1. DNA solution: > 1ug (conc.: ≥0.2 pmole/µl, Vol.: >20 µl), dissolved in 0.1-1X TE, OD260/280: 1.8-2.0, in 1.5 ml microtube (screw cap is preferred).
To quantify PCR product, we recommend using the following formula: pmole = (weight in ng) x 1,000 / (base pairs x 650 Daltons).
For example: 50 ng of 5000 bp dsDNA is about 0.015 pmole and 50 ng of 500 bp dsDNA is about 0.15 pmole.
2. DNA can be shipped at room temperature, but it is very important to dissolve it in TE to prevent degradation by residual DNase that may exist in your prep (any concentration of TE in the 0.1-1X range is OK).
3. Clearly label your tube on the side with sample name and concentration and wrap the tube with parafilm tape to avoid leakage during transportation.
4. For precious materials, please save at least half of the materials as your own backup.
5. You can include any additional information that you think would help us process your materials correctly.
